Adranos is seeking an Aerospace Manufacturing Technician to support its rocket motor research, development, and production efforts. 


Adranos designs, tests, and produces rocket motors utilizing ALITEC, the highest performing solid rocket fuel in the world. ALITEC dramatically increases the range and payload capacity of various launch systems, including missiles, hypersonics, space launch platforms, and various other systems utilizing solid propellant. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform energetics research, development, and manufacturing processes, including but not limited to mixing, casting, machining, and other similar processes
  • Perform component assembly processes, including but not limited to assembling rockets, casings, nozzles, and other relevant parts
  • Perform research and development activities, including but not limiting test firing of rockets
  • Set up and maintain a variety of equipment
  • Assist with quality control
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities based on the needs of the organization


Required Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance
  • 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing facilities and equipment

  • Coordinate with the engineering department during design and specification requirements to ensure manufacturability and that quality attributes can be met

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • This individual will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will have the ultimate responsibility for personnel safety and regulatory compliance as follows:

    • Supervise a team of scientists and engineering technicians in safe handling, data collection, and research related to activities involving the manufacturing of metal powders and propellants;
    • Establish, implement, and maintain a safety program throughout the organization;
    • Develop and conduct safety training programs for all staff;
    • Provide day-to-day oversight of project activities and ensure adherence to established safety protocols and related training.

  • This individual will also have the ultimate responsibility for product quality and related regulatory compliance as follows:

    • Validate quality product specifications and quality attributes; measure and document objective evidence; determine operational and performance qualifications; develop and update quality processes;
    • Provide guidance to engineering to best utilize quality processes and techniques and ensure customer requirements are met;
    • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including corrective actions, failed processes, recalls, return merchandise and re-validations;
    • Support manufacturing and quality project planning and scheduling to ensure consistent execution and delivery of products and services;
    • Champion ISO 9001/AS9100 certification and compliance.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of relevant, hand-on experience in the propellants and/or munitions field, which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of military, commercial, and other types of energetic materials or a Master’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience

The candidate most suited to this position would have experience designing rocket motor hardware (i.e., casings and nozzles) in military and/or space launch applications.

  • Lead all hardware design activities in the company

This role will primarily support the purchasing and organizing of inventory and non-inventory items, procurement of equipment, and management of suppliers. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience with reporting, creating demand, material planning for production work orders, and issuing materials in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support the purchasing, organizing, and maintaining of various items as follows:

    • Plan material demand for inventory and non-inventory items
    • Run replenishment routines, plan and order stocked items
    • Manage stocked items to targeted inventory levels, and line fill rates
    • Monitor the accuracy of planning data and recommend reorder point modifications as appropriate based on usage patterns
    • Source industrial and chemical products with strong knowledge of best practices for MRO purchasing through an approved purchase requisition process
    • Source industrial and other equipment
    • Complete and monitor reports related to inventory, procurement, and other matters
    • Expedite orders to ensure required delivery dates are met and communicate status of open orders
    • Monitor inventory and warehouse transactions for accuracy, doing regular cycle counts
    • Receive and ship items as needed


  • Support the management of suppliers as follows:

    • Maintain a vendor approved supplier file database within the company’s inventory management platform

    • Assist in resolution of various supplier issues, including the resolution of billing discrepancies, shipment accuracy, and adherence to expected supplier performance

As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, this role will support Adranos’s growth through skilled management and administration of appropriate standards and tools of systems engineering to design solid rocket motors including those utilizing Adranos’s high-performance solid rocket fuel, ALITEC.  

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead system engineering functions, including concept of operations development/documentation, system architecture, subsystem design/analysis, creation and maintenance of system/subsystem requirements and interface requirements / definition documentation, timing and sizing, design reviews, system integration, test and/or verification 
  • Support new business proposals from initial requirements verification through mission design, prototype development, and testing 
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers from early capabilities studies through successful testing and transition to manufacturing 
  • Lead all programmatic aspects of programs, from contract award through integration, test, and transition to manufacturing, ensuring all contract requirements are met 
  • Manage project budgets and schedules  
  • Champion technical processes, best practices and tool development for system engineering and product development, including requirements capture and flow-down, preliminary design, critical design, product realization, design verification testing, system integration, qualification, certification, delivery, and operations. 
  • Establish, monitor, document and improve processes specific to systems engineering. 
  • Work with internal customers and tool developers to develop requirements and implement organizational systems and programs 
  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests in order to make sure the system as a whole is optimized

This position would be instrumental in developing new solid rocket propellant formulations based on Adranos’s proprietary solid rocket fuel, ALITEC. This position would perform operations related to mixing, casting, assembly, and testing of various propellant formulations and energetic materials.

  • Under supervision of senior personnel, conduct research and development into new/novel propellant formulations
  • Perform investigative characterizations of energetic formulations 
  • Perform and examine thermal analysis of energetic formulations and constituents using standard tools (e.g., DSC/TGA, VTS, mechanical testing, etc.)
  • Investigate change associated with material processing, and compatibility of energetic materials, associated inert materials, and components that contain these materials
  • Analyze chemical and materials data to derive product-level relationships and characteristics using established data science and statistical analysis methods
  • Under supervision of senior personnel perform energetics manufacturing processes, including but not limited to mixing, casting, machining, and other similar processes
  • Under supervision of senior personnel perform component assembly processes, including but not limited to assembling rockets, casings, nozzles, and other relevant parts
  • Assist with quality control, and data collection.

Required Qualifications:

Adranos is seeking a Propulsion Engineer II to design and develop the next-generation solid rocket motors for missile, hypersonic, and space launch systems.  


As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, this role will support Adranos through the design, analysis, and build of hardware for our propulsion systems. Designs will be informed by both thermal/structural analysis and computational models. In this role, you will apply engineering principles, industry standards, company standards and customer requirements to develop solid rocket motor propulsion systems for application in launch vehicles, missile systems, and hypersonic systems.


This position may be filled at this level or at one level higher (Propulsion Engineer III).

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers from early capabilities studies through successful testing and transition to manufacturing
  • Lead all programmatic aspects of programs, from contract award through integration, test, and transition to manufacturing, ensuring all contract requirements are met
  • Manage project budgets and schedules 
  • Champion technical processes, best practices and tool development for system engineering and product development, including requirements capture and flow-down, preliminary design, critical design, product realization, design verification testing, system integration, qualification, certification, delivery, and operations.
  • Establish, monitor, document and improve processes specific to systems engineering.
  • Work with internal customers and tool developers to develop requirements and implement organizational systems and programs
  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests in order to make sure the system as a whole is optimized
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges
  • Represent the Systems Engineering team in technical reviews and failure investigations
  • Mentor and educate Adranos employees on systems engineering processes and methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for solid rocket innovation to enable our customers to Launch More and Fly Farther!
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or other technical field
  • 7+ years of systems development and/or process improvement experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in and lead teams, good execution and coordination skills
  • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems
  • Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness and success from previous assignments and working with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Experience working with launch vehicles, missile systems, or other systems utilizing solid rocket motors
  • Support up to 20% domestic travel to engage key stakeholders and support training.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Adranos is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer, Composites to design and develop next-generation solid rocket motors for missile and space launch systems. 


As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, this role will support Adranos’s growth through skilled hardware design of solid rocket motors, including those utilizing Adranos’s high-performance solid rocket fuel, ALITEC. 


This position may be filled at this level or at one level lower (Senior Engineer, Composites).


This job may be performed remotely with a preference for your location in one of the following areas:

  • Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Huntsville, Alabama
  • Coastal Mississippi


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead design activities in the company for all composite rocket motor components, including booster casings, tactical rocket motor casings, and other flight structures
  • Interface with customers, including making presentations and drafting formal reports
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to select and produce material systems that meet design requirements
  • Lead composite materials and process selection, testing, and qualification efforts
  • Mentor and educate Adranos employees on engineering processes and methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
